Standard tickets for Beyoncé’s Formation World Tour concert at Sunderland’s Stadium of Light have sold out in less than 24 hours after going on sale yesterday.
The iconic singer will open the European leg of her global tour on Wearside on Tuesday 28 June, 2016 and unprecedented demand has seen over*52,000 tickets sell out*across ticket websites and the stadium’s own box office.
Sunderland AFC’s commercial director, Gary Hutchinson, said: “The level of excitement around this show is something that we haven’t witnessed in a long time. To sell out in under 24 hours perfectly demonstrates how popular Beyoncé is and what a coup being chosen to host the opening night of the European leg of the world tour is for us here in Sunderland.”
