If all the delegates stay with their particular candidate of choice going into voting, right now Hillary has 392 (355 super delegates). Bernie has 42 (8 superdelegates). Even if Bernie was to get all 341 uncommitted right now+O'Malley's 2, he still wouldn't have more than Hillary.

He really does need to win a lot of these states.

Actually, it's about half and half. There are just a little bit more closed primaries and caucuses than open, like maybe 4 - 8 more. However, there are a few semi-closed primaries/caucuses, which means both undecided and independents can register the same-day to participate in the voting. NH was a semi-closed primary.

Remember places like Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands, D.C., Dems Abroad, American Samoa, etc have their open primaries/caucuses as well.
