Because the person who brought the NFL the biggest ratings boost in Super Bowl history was performing during that time slot.

This is more of a "victory" for Coldplay than Beyonce imo.
And the show's peak is still lower than last year so there's still a slight decline between the last halftime show. Can't say i'm surprised though because of the actual game itself.
