I love the video and the lyrics...but the production and vocals just annoy the **** out of me, I cant get into it its just noise.
But even with that being said the message behind the video and lyrics is EVERYTHING.

Azealia doesn't actually address black issues in her music because she doesn't like spreading negative energy. If you'd like to re-word your post to say that Beyoncé should leave black issues alone in her music, you'd be better saying 'leave that to Mr. Lamar/D'Angelo' rather than an artist that doesn't actually have lyrics on this subject matter.

And since Beyoncé lost you at the cornerstone of her career where she has actually begun to push boundaries, then it's clear you just want easy listening music. So goodbye. I don't expect to see you in a Bey thread complaining again.

A lot of people (myself included) were actually taken aback by the sound of 7/11. Then you let it sink in for a couple of days. And it doesn't. Let. Go.

I imagine this will be the same for those of y'all that are enjoying the lyrics/visuals but the song isn't instant. For me it clicked almost straightaway but I wasn't expecting a pop bop. I knew she was going to serve something urban and boundary pushing as soon as she hired all black dancers.

I feel like it's great that Beyoncé is using her voice to raise some powerful messages.
Thing is a lot of people (who enjoyed her previous *more fun* songs) can't really relate to that.

!!! I think this is the biggest part of it, a lot of ATRL expected her to be serving I Am Sasha Fierce P2, but it was obvious after BEYONCE that she was going down a more urban + authentic route.

The song had to grow on me, which happened after the third listen. Now I'm obsessed and have it on repeat.

Well if you can't relate to it - or at the very least appreciate it, because I'm not black yet I love it for what it represents - then just say it. The user that posted the post I quoted was being very sarcastic and condescending, calling 7/11 '4/11' and ****. If you don't like the song, then great, feel free to express that with logical reasoning (as you have!). But for someone to come into a thread to be unnecessarily rude is just that: unnecessary.

the production is amazing but I understand you might not be able to appreciate it with $5 skull candy headphones
she has always included rapping in some form or another in her music so I don't get why you're so taken aback
