Goodnight Gotham could have been a really great track, I really don't understand why they only made an interlude with it... Mitus said on Twitter they recorded a whole version of the song.
Pose is really ratchet, maybe it's good for the twerking moments but I kind of feel it ruins the mood of the album... absolutely the worst track on the album.
Sex With Me feels bittersweet to me, I don't know why... It's starting to grow on me, but it's very unapologetic-ish and it would have fit better in her previous album.
About the standard, I won't add anything. These 13 tracks are real perfection and she topped herself. She really was worth the wait, after all.
my top 3 is definitely Love on the Brain, Consideration, Same Ol' Mistakes
I'm unsure out of Needed Me, Kiss It Better and Desperado which 2 make up the other 2 tracks in my top 5 Needed Me has grown on me a lot since my first listen
This album makes me a bit worried for Rihanna because it's so dark & angry all-around, but she really is underrated as a vocalist/musician. I mean her voice's emotional depth... she just hits me in a way no one else can with some of her more personal songs. And obviously she mercilessly slays the bops, too. But her more personal songs have always been my absolute favorites, so this album is a gold-mine. I just hope she never completely abandons the pop bops like Work.
Starting to really get into the album.... my top 3 are definitely....
Kiss It Better
Desperado
Same Ol' Mistakes
and I'm also really starting to get into "Work" and "Love On The Brain"..... and there's just something about "Goodnight Gotham" that I really like.
Also, no shade, but the first time I listened to "Love On The Brain" I thought to myself "oh no, is this going to be a cover of Beyonce's 'Superpower'????" The production is way too similar.... i know that Williams produced both, but still.
I can not stand the Superpower/LOTB comparisons
It's always, always made by people with entry-level musical knowledge, I swear.
The songs have waaay more dissimilarities than similarities.

I agree so much. Just feels like fans baiting other fans into starting a war. I love both songs (but I think LOTB is a better song, Superpower was never one of my favourites on Self-Titled, though I do think ST > ANTI, so).

Are Kevin Parker's vocals still in the background of Same Ol' Mistakes?
I think it is a fair opinion to prefer ST over Anti.
LOTB and Superpower are two of my favorites on both albums, too.
And, alas, the songs really are not that alike.
