It's not an indie work of art but it's a high quality album, especially for a main pop girl album of today.

No she didn't . She took to alternative genres and approached them with a basic pop format. She basically watered down her inspirations, Outside like 3 songs, there was barely any commitment.
The songs always had a strong introductions but it never goes anywhere. There's just not enough ideas here.

The thought of going through 3/4 of high school with no new music from my fave.

Maybe the absence of new RiRi caused them to focus and study more, so they graduated early.

See that's the problem. Experimental for rih. For her standards. As a pop star. Which isn't high at all. The album didn't really have any pop hits, and none of them masterpieces in comparison to other songs in their respective genres. "Woo" can not stand up against HAIM's "My Song 5". "Kiss It Better" can not stand up against Miguel's "Candles In The Sun". So where did Anti actually excel?
Lyrically? Her lyrics were mostly minimalist.
Production? Her production was mostly unambitious.
Vocally? Generally laid back.

So you tell me, what makes this album so high quality? Not why it's so high quality "for Rihanna".

ANTi is experimental (considering her past albums), but at the same time I feel like it's emulating the PBR&B/Weeknd trend the same way that Loud was a product of EDM.

It's a different sound for her, but she's not necessarily going very left of center either.

and I'm also really starting to get into "Work" and "Love On The Brain"..... and there's just something about "Goodnight Gotham" that I really like.

Also, no shade, but the first time I listened to "Love On The Brain" I thought to myself "oh no, is this going to be a cover of Beyonce's 'Superpower'????" The production is way too similar.... i know that Williams produced both, but still.

They'd be seniors, I'm one of them.
It was terrible, but this album was worth the wait for sure.
At least I know all the words of her albums now since I had nothing else to listen to.

Pharrell didn't produce Love On the Brain. And Frank Ocean wrote Beyonce's "Superpower".

I don't want another album until the earliest October 2017. I can really even wait until Spring 2018. This album was worth the wait and Im all for her taking time with her records. A good 2 year break after a tour is needed.
