Marvin would be out anyways though. If Anna came back, this would be a double elimination. If Anna didn't come back, her spoon doesn't count and therefore Marvin got last spoon.

Nope, double elimination if there were 2 returnees. Only 15 spoons available. If borntodie didn't come back, you'd have been the eliminated spoon anyway.
