Lol I'm not someone who listens to songs from the 80s and 90s (or even 70s) like most people my age (or even a little younger). I listen to 95% current music (Active Rock, followed by Country, Alternative, and AAA), and my lack of interest in older music confuses if not frustrates many of my friends.
However, the songs at Top 40 are far from the best available, yet dominate half of the audience impressions. All that I want is for Top 40 to start playing more Rock and Country crossovers like it did through the latter part of last decade instead of playing nothing but Pop. The GP has a right to know what else is out there, and Top 40 radio's original purpose was (and still should be) to play some of everything.
EDIT: Think about it -- if all I ever did was listen to the songs "I grew up with", which is sadly what most of my friends do and then start complaining that the radio station keeps playing the "same old songs" (what else should they expect with those listening habits???), I wouldn't be on here in the first place!
