As has been said a million times, Family Guy makes fun of everything and everyone. So criticizing them now only serves to show your transaparency and lack of necessary context.

The OP asked how we felt about the depiction of not Africa, but Abuja (see Hotel Abuja behind Lois). As an individual with an informed opinion I answered the question, not personally angry or offended, but objectively speaking as a Nigerian. Never criticized the makers or the show, just said that the depiction is racist, which it is. Most of your response, if directed at me, comes from stuff you made up in your own head and projected onto me but even if I was to criticize them, how could you possibly tell me I'm wrong? Just because it's a comedy show, and just because they make fun of everyone, is irrelevant to the topic at hand, which is their depiction of Abuja.

Actually I was not speaking of anyone in particular.

And feel free to get upset, it's your right. It's just kind of ridiculous getting bothered by an adult comedy inaccurately representing a place of people for laughs when they literally do it every single Sunday, and have been for the past decade.

Do you know every Australian Day, scenes of the Australian Episode of The Simpsons showing Aussies to be dumb idiots, with our Prime Minister being a drunk who sleeps in a damn on a farm, gets shown around each year, it's become a staple.



The whole episode is so insulting to Australia, and that's why we love it. Because we can laugh at ourselves even though we are nothing like this.

i really don't understand why people take family guy seriously when it's pretty much designed with the intention of making people mad. getting offended by it is pretty pointless. it's not like getting mad at it will make it go away (considering most of the types to boycott a show based on the team not having diversity ran away from family guy a long time ago) and it was never trying to not bother you, so i think it's a huge waste of energy to get mad at it. and i can't stand people who spend their time complaining about (or "analyzing") how offensive media is on the internet so they can look and feel super progressive without actually doing anything (some of them even keep watching the thing they're offended by, which is even worse).

This reminds me of the fact that I've been taking part in little trivia games with people around my campus and everytime someone asks for the name of a country one or two people always say Africa.
