It is emotional. Rachel's vocals come from a real place. She literally wrote that song when she was in a depression and on the verge of giving up on the music industry. The lyrics may be cheesy, but they stick. At least her message came across CRYSTAL CLEAR.
People compare this to Brave and Roar. Well, this song is on-par with Roar in terms of being empowering because Katy and Rachel have a presence while Sara Bareilles is just boring as ****.
