No. The fact that KIIS FM is playing "Send My Love" means that Columbia's Top 40 radio promo team gave them clearance to play it. They'll wait and see which takes off. Like I said, they expected this to take off like "Hello" as soon as the album hit, and it didn't.
This might be an international single only.
I wish they'd go with "Water Under The Bridge" second here, though, as the "cold outside" lyric lends itself better to winter, and it makes a better transition between the Adult Contemporary "Hello" and the poppy "Send My Love," which sounds more like a spring and summer, played every hour for months until you're sick of it, hit. As for what they go for after that, Columbia usually plays it very safe at pop (remember Beyonce), so my guess is "Remedy." Those type of generic (but pretty because it's restrained Adele) ballads do well in the late summer/fall, like that "Say Something" song.
They should announce in January, though, since Hot AC seems to be onto this already, and it would be best if she had the same song playing on all formats.
Didn't she have four singles in the US and five in the UK last time? It may be the same situation this time around.
This has great verses, but the second half of the chorus sounds so screechy, and it's definitely no "Someone Like You." Plus, there's nothing more PDs at Pop dislike than an artist releasing two ballads in a row.
