Y'all said the same when Taylor did a radio friendly catchy pop song which went on to be the biggest hits of her career - "These songs will flop" etc. It's the same concept.
Nothing changes the fact that its inevitable that when raw talent turns to easily accessible catchy pop songs - they go on to be the biggest of their careers.
When We Were Young will still see success, obviously, its a beautiful song. But Send My Love will be the next big smash after Hello.
This song will just linger on the charts for a long time. I don't see it having a huge peak. This is gonna be similar to SLY chart wise. I don't see this hitting number one unless it happens during a really weak period on the charts. I see it being "big" for a long time though

SLY was huge, globally. Pretty sure it was number 1 for around 5 weeks.
I gotta a feeling that WWWY is going to be more remembered than Hello, even if the song is a Top 3 hit both in US as the UK.
Nah bra everything about Hello is so iconic and ubiquitous.
It is her biggest classic rn TBH. When We Were Young is so, so good and will be big for her but Hello is becoming her song.
I hope you're wrong because this trash don't deserves more attention than WWWY, WUTB or IMY.
I agree. Water Under The Bridge is one of the best songs of her career for me. (After rolling in the deep). But I'm just going off previous similar situations.
absolutely agree with you. there is something extremely timeless about WWWY.
Do I sound crazy if I say I think this will maybe be her most remembered single ever...maybe only after Someone Like You..maybe? :S
"Never mind I'll find someone like you" its line alone is > WWWY
Even WWWY is better one.
But for me, WWWY is her best song after Hometown Glory.

Both tracks are iconic but WWWY could overshadow Hello if the official video is well done, imo.

I got you. Let's just pray that she's going to release the best songs of the album as singles!

With an epic cinematic music video with actual actors would be magnificent TBH. In the style of I Know I'm Not the Only One but much grander of course.
I think this will hit #1 when she releases a music video for it, and puts it on Spotify.
If she times it right with the radio build, it will jump up to #1 for sure. As long as no other huge song comes along, she should be good. With Beyonce, Gaga, Katy, and Rih up in the air, who knows, though.
What are you guys blahbling about? i can't at some of you calling/deeming this song a flop/underperformance, when it hasn't been released yet. at least wait after christmas freeze and after the song have been officially send to radio, put on Spotify, video on VEVO, after her grammy performance. before y'all claim it as underperformance/flop. you guys always do that, calling a song a flop before it even have a chance sprung it wings and before you know it that song you were bashing became one of the biggest hit of the year.
