*shrug* I've never heard of SMG being a cowardly actor. She did some pretty amazing stuff on Buffy. And there are always stunt doubles. Why, have you heard stories about her on-set?
Besides, Jessica never wanted to do gore, so Ryan worked around that to fit her needs. I think he tries to push, but not if he sees the actor is really upset/unwilling to do the scenes.
