I just noticed that you replied to this.

We're respected a lot more by teachers and treated as more independent (several examples: some of my sophomore classes featured binder checks and rigid assignments without much room for creativity, especially for written assignments- e.g. follow certain structure x, x amount of pages maximum, x amount of words minimum, x amount of sources needed). Plus, I've made a bunch of really good friends and our friendships are obviously stronger now than they were a year ago.

My AP Calc BC class is amazing. That too.

AP Psychology is snatching my wig right now. I took it as a GPA booster but I'm not doing so well on the tests, its probably my hardest class this term. Hopefully my grades will improve before winter break.

Has anybody here taken Anatomy in high school? At my school we have a CIS (college-in-school) Anatomy and Physiology class and I'm considering taking it my senior year because I'm going into the medical field.

I think the most valuable lesson I learned while in High School is how completely useless it is to do an Honors class.

Extra work at an extra pace for just 7 extra points to your grade at the end of the semester. THEN the kii is, majority of colleges want your GPA without those 7 extra points it seems.

So you essentially did extra work and faster for just those 7 points, for that only advantage to not even count.

I really should've just took the on level classes all those times and got A+'s where I'd have a higher GPA and it wouldn't be touched when colleges see it. Never falling for 'take Honors classes, you need that challenge and reward from it!' mess again.

I wanna get switched out this AP class next semester sooo bad. My teacher is such a harsh grading person, and I just know I'm not about to do it another semester.

eh for colleges (especially T50 schools) course rigor is critical. So no, honors classes aren't really useless. A student who only takes honors/advanced/AP classes/dual enrollment and has a 90+ (let's say they have 3.7 overall GPA) in all of them is considered better than student who only takes regular classes and has a 95+ in all of them (let's say they have a 3.9 overall GPA).

I was about to do IB and I'm glad I contacted most of the UCs before I made a decision.
Most of the UC's view IB as the same level as AP.
So there is no point of doing IB if you know you're gonna flop rather than doing something you know you're gonna slay in.
