Ok the stans need to just stop their petty arguments
This is coming from someone who uses their music equally and isn't really a die hard fan of either:
Britney Spears had one of the biggest peaks the music industry has ever witnessed. She was the face of pop music for about 5 years and then became the face of "Hollywood gone wrong". Her power in the '00s was insane, sales wise and pop culture wise. She was a bigger star than Beyoncé in the 2000's because she arguably was the BIGGEST star. Not saying Beyoncé wasn't big, but Britney during this decade was one hell of an event.
However, her career and star power pretty much died down at the turn of the decade, while Beyoncé only continued to become a bigger celebrity, and a consistent force in the industry. Beyoncé is clearly the more well-rounded and more "talented" (I use this loosely because I think it's ignorant when people say Britney has no talent because she does) artist. Beyoncé has the longevity Britney lacks. Britney Spears has already cemented her place in the world of music and pop culture because her glory days are pretty much behind her. Beyoncé still has more time on her hands and in all honesty I think works harder than Britney at this point. Britney doesn't seem all that invested in her career anymore, while Beyoncé is a hustler and is still going strong. Beyoncé will easily become a legend within the next 10 years, as will Britney.
