She has a deal with Samsung for this album, and she's still under Roc Nation, so she most likely has a deadline. She has way more control now but she's not completely independent.
And video editing has nothing to do with how much control she has now, she's not editing her videos, her team is. If anything she might be co-directing this new video, just like she co-directed Disturbia, DSTM, AO, BBHMM etc.
Also the video shoot is happening the week of VSFS rehearsing/taping, so it seems that she cancelled VSFS to film the video, I doubt she would do that if it was to come next year.......
