It's like playboy.
No one cares about it anymore and people see more nudity and lingerie on instagram.

Well tommy was very manipulative and did alot of stunts to get mariah's sales up as well as the #1.
It was a known thing for her to discount her singles, remix them and repress sale of the song until airplay built up to top 15 since she was going to be played on all formats and then release a single, lowered price and boom it reaches a peak.
I'm a Mariah stan but you can't take the shady dealings of Tommy against Mariah as ok but then drag MJ for it and believe he was legit.
When he and Mariah were having problems she would make bigger posters for celine dion who was selling bigger than Mariah globally and then she'd complain to have them removed and then she'd get the diva rep because of it.
Mariah even tried to do it post divorce
She released Heartbreaker, Thank god i found you, loverboy with remixes so that urban would play the song.
I remember getting the cheap 99c/59c singles.
Loverboy peaked mid 50s until the single was discounted to 59c and reached #2
The reason it didn't go to #1 was because Tommy RUSH ReLeased DC3's bootylicious 2 weeks in advance so that it could block Mariah. It was at #8 (bootylcious) until it's own single release.
He didn't promote HER TIMELESS CLASSIC song butterfly because it was about him
MJ called him out for racism because Tommy has been behind the media propaganda for many white artist and overinflating their sales and impact and discounting their albums and radio payola etc. but he calls out "MJ" not the others he did that for.
Only when they go against him does he "expose" them which includes lies and embellishments with some truth.
We belong together was #1 urban due to the remix not the original
I remember crybaby being matched with cant' take that away BOTH songs tanked on radio but after she performed it at the blockbuster awards or something they released it at a low price and it peaked at 28 for one week. This was mariah's doing to try and keep her hits going, though.
Still love Legend Mariah
