It was a thread asking ATRL to discuss family members who have sex with each other. I'm not sure why you thought that was an appropriate topic.

I know what incest is. Did it go against any rule, though? or did you not like it based on your beliefs and opinions so you just decided to delete it?

@Luke. the mods might not directly tell you this but ATRL has basically become a family-friendly, heavily censored site because of restrictions placed by advertisers. A thread about incest is not allowed under those restrictions. You'd have to frame it in a very specific way, perhaps as a discussion of laws with a highly-researched OP, something that doesn't make it look like a clickbait "scandalous controversial topic omgg!!" thread.

Did you see the thread? It was discussing if incest is right or wrong and I clarified everything in the OP saying that it's about when it's consented and they're adults. It's a real thing that's worth discussing and not "sexually explicit" in any way.

The title of the thread was just "Incest." You weren't asking a question or posing a theory—you were posting a provocative topic and hoping for a hit.

Furthermore, incest is a sexual relationship between family members. So it's explicit by definition. To discuss that would necessitate bringing up a lot of things that go against ATRL guidelines.

And finally, the thread went off the rails with the first reply. No one was taking it seriously, and there was no actual conversation happening.

The reason I deleted it instead of simply closing it was to avoid having all of that mess spill over into HQ. But I see that didn't work out, unfortunately.

It was directly about incest, should I choose "Let's talk about incest!" instead? you can change the title if you want, it's not a valid reason to delete a whole thread because of it. I can't fit the information in the title but it's there in the OP and I wanted to discuss it. Trust me, getting a "hit" thread in ATRL is not something I strive for.

Homosexuality is sexual attractions and relations between the same gender.. it's explicit by definition too. In fact, a lot of explicit topics are made everywhere in ATRL but they don't get closed, let alone deleted.

It didn't even go past ten replies because you swiftly deleted it. If idiotic and unnecessary comments made by ATRLers could cost the deletion of a thread than 80% of this site would be empty.

First of all, moderators of ATRL reserve the right to remove, edit, move, or close any thread, for any reason, supaspaz gave you a valid reason to why it was the right decision to delete the thread, and he didn't even need to justify himself (let alone, this many times). Just accept it, and move on. But you are actually right about how members can't usually handle and discuss serious topics, that's one the reasons why they are closed (or deleted) 99% of the time. ATRL isn't really the place to discuss topics like those. And this is not a new policy.
