I actually agree. There's plenty of masterpieces in that era but they can be dull and forgettable. The top 60 deserves more character
Host commentary - The last track of the pre-LAP 80s. And another flawless album track done wrong. She has more innovative and personal album closers, but this one is my favorite. It is just a perfect mixture of emotion in a dancey track.
Guest commentary Subomie - What a lovely way to close the album, it's better than all but one of the singles from this album too.
HonourableVomit -Ugh, I know it gets lost in the LAV hate train but this really is superb 80s synth pop. It's got the bright Virgin vocals that made her so easily recognisable but the melancholic undertones make it pretty much the first ballad as a songwriter (not counting the LDLHA cover obviously) that she had released. It gets slept on, but Stay is a perfect album track.
Reinvention - redeemable qualities I guess

LoveLiveMusic - Stay gets a 10 from me because there’s something so captivating in it. The lyrics are nothing too impressive, but the booming of words like ‘You’ and ‘Stay’ are much louder than the drums.

Obviously it's all been stated already but the 80s trashing was not deserved and an absolute horror. White Heat (and True Blue) were the only overdue lashings. I hope Music and AL get cut down a bit because they have way too much still in. Especially AL.

But seriously there was some wrong-doing done. No tracks I was too sad to see go today. I really can't stand "Hold Tight" and I knew ya'll would hate "Beat Goes On", so meh.
