I mean that's fine and all, but it's hard for me to believe you've lived your life without having heard a single song of theirs. I'm not even a fan and I could recite several of their songs' lyrics verbatim. That's how often I used to hear them growing up, and even now still do.
Also, ignorance shouldn't be praised. If you've never heard a song from someone, and you see them mentioned/praised/talked about, GO LISTEN. Be active for goodness sakes.
