You know it's extremely hilarious to me how racist people are.
African Americans and Non White Hispanics can be discriminated based on their names, but the crazy thing is many of them have European names. Like suddenly names are considered ghetto or bad if a non white person adopts it.
Mess at y'all acting like this is anything new. This goes on every single day. Most employers wouldn't hire someone called Watermelondrea. Most would find a "reason" for it but low-key they think exactly like Raven. This is a very Katie Hopkins kind of thing. Assuming we're talking about a business where first impressions are paramount, it doesn't matter how good you are at your job, it's the clients that matter. And unfortunately a lot of the public think the exact same way. The employer is going to hire someone that's going to get the best impression from the clients.
A real life example; a man at my work was born Odimabo. He recently legally changed his name to Alex, and soon after switched to a much better job. This isn't anything new. Your name really shouldn't matter, but unfortunately it does.

I'm not justifying it at all. She's wrong for what she's saying. I'm just pointing out that this is how a lot of people think and business won't change their perception until the public changes theirs. I just don't get why people are acting shocked over this, when it's literally something that happens every day.

First of all, she's so wrong that. People have absolutely no control over what they are names, and not everyone has the resources to legally change it, nor the desire.
Second, how are those names remotely African? Point me to the ethnic group where those names originate from cause
