Just saw it. I stayed away from this thread to not bicker too much and just watch the first episode without knowing too much.
I'm glad they're giving Kathy Bates the screen time and decent material to work with. Sarah Paulson is doing a great job as well, I kind of don't like her that much but she sell me the druggie well. Glad to see Matt Boomer nude as much as possible, Ryan better show off that hunk well and often. I liked Wes' as well. Gaga was kind of stiff and at times it felt like it was a Gaga music video.Specially the beginning of the orgy scene with her pasties and jewels as well as the flashback scene with her showing up and saying Donovan has one hell of a jaw after Sarah and Kathy had a great and pretty intense scene. A bit of camp is fine though I hope they don't just let things slide and try to pass it off because she's a vampire and that's all people need to know and we'll just assume things because of that.
I loved that they went pretty deep in with some things, the drilldo, the hardcore drugs, some sadistic torture, it made me feel a bit uncomfortable but I want that out of American Horror Story, the fingernail throat slashing, vampires killing people during sex, not that uncomfortable.
Now I want to know why she steals kids, that's going to be one of the things that explains everything. John will go into the hotel, he might try to live fine there then escape, he'll cause a bit of a hardship since his kid is there so that will change some dynamics. Does he find him or not, even see him, what will be the Countess' reaction once she finds out he's the dad and what not.
I can't wait to see Angela Basset, I didn't miss Evan Peters at all, I'll be good with Matt Bomer. Dennis was good too, I can't wait to see more of his character. I kind of would have loved to see Chloe a bit more twisted, maybe in Sarah's role. Finn, Emma and Lily still have to show up. I didn't miss Jessica at all, she would have been the Countess but it could have worked out better with her but enough of her being a diva/bitchy lead in AHS.
I hope they tie in more of other seasons of AHS to this like with the real estate agent, Murder House and Coven lend themselves perfectly for this. Maybe have some of the ghosts who can leave the Murder House on Halloween show up for a party, Papa Legba hanging around or even Madison or Fiona showing up.

and I think Iris stays at the hotel to always be there for her son who can't move out the hotel cause the Countess won't let him. 
I was wrong. AHS is still so huge
