Any sport can have more or less players than intended. Most tennis matches are singles (1v1). Deal with it.
This, though. Doubles may be a thing in tennis but there's still games that can involve two people (not sure about professionally but when simply playing for fun, yeah.) I didn't even get the answer and I'm not complaining about it.
