i don't really understand what's meant to be 'pretentious' about self-titled. it's not as if she was doing what brit/gags/katy were doing with their last albums and trying to market them as their personal/artistic/spiritual zenith.
self-titled is a fantastic album. the only duds are really pretty hurts (but even still this elevates listening to haunted for the first time) heaven and superpower. it's difficult to even choose a top five from that album.
