If this is the best "pop" song she could muster up, she should have just chosen an undeniable (somewhat upbeat) urban banger to attempt to crossover with.
Better to excel where you know you can, than to play someone else's game and offer up C+ work. The competition on pop radio is so far beyond this, there's no way it will be a hit. In fact, I'll be surprised if it gets picked up in any real way.
And ftr, normally I don't take into account chart success when reviewing songs, but she herself has been very vocal about her desire to dominate this time around, so I felt it was warranted.
