Do the rate (I know...I'm encouraging because I want more participants, but it is a good way to make sure you hear pretty much everything in her discography), just listen to the full albums while you do it instead of just the non-singles to make it a proper experience. You said you've only heard from ROL onward right? Maybe try to get into some era nostalgia with the 80s stuff by looking at old performances (not current performances of old songs) and music videos. And once you hit LAP, Erotica, and Bedtime Stories, you've hit proper "album Madonna" territory and should be able to enjoy them. If you do the rate, listen to I'm Breathless, but unless you like show tunes (which I do) you probably won't like most of it.
You take the time to do that and I'll take some time to forgive you for the blasphemy you just paid Borderline.
