Murder House was pretty horrifying though they played up the soap opera and campiness to an extra level. It worked, most of the time, aside from Dylan McDermott crying while masturbating into a lamp. Asylum is where they finally got rid of the soapish elements and made it actually well-written horrifying night after night. It was also ratings poison. So Coven and Freakshow made it campy as **** and appealed to the Tumblr generation for much better ratings.

I abondoned AHS last season (at least I thought there was another season) but Gaga may be the reason I will tune in again. The trailer is all kinds of majestic.

I'm happy that AHS: Lady Gaga will bring some life to Lee!!'s official TV ratings thread. I always feel so bad when Lee does like 5 posts from different days and no one has posted anything between them.

Coven started out great. It was fantastic up until the episode after Kathy Bates's severed head had to watch the Civil Rights movement and broke down. Then it became a disaster with no central plot, bad characterization, and cheesy one-liners. I loved Papa Legba though.

At least Freak Show had some great moment like Jessica Lang singing Gods and Monsters, Elsa's snuff movie and the beautiful Pepper episode (). Poor Coven
