I haven't listened to Joni that long but she seems to have been someone that cared very strongly about the messages of her music and fought against the commercialization/neutering of music. Didn't she essentially retire because she was fed up with the state of music?

I don't think Madonna hates GaGa at all. She was just trying to get promotion for her album and tour and was probably banking on GaGa going all out and making a real rivalry out of it (including offering her to perform with her) but GaGa ended up being more a victim than she had thought bs things turned drastically different.
Zayn is not happening. No one in 1D is happening at this point. There isn't going to be a Justin Timberlake (though Harry had a chance once upon a time until he started looking like a rotting corpse). Time to just let them wither and let them finally relax after years of indentured servitude.
