But okay, nothing to do with Islam, "cultural tradition" and so on.

What kind of "I'm not racist I have black friends" type of foolery? You're speaking of a few incidents that, again,
do not affect you and basing your incredibly ignorant opinion on an entire religion upon it? You mentioned how Islam's treatment of women is "anything but evolved" yet the Qur'an worships women. Sadly these surahs have been manipulated and stripped of their meaning by bad scholars but the
actual religion and teaching and practices are anything but oppressive. Women are respected.
Therefore it is a "cultural" thing. It's mannerisms and misunderstanding of faith. I know, as a queer South Asian, that homo/transphobia was absent from my culture (despite being present in Arab culture - where are you coming from?) until British and American colonialism came. Religion and culture are not synonymous.
I know that the story of Lut in the Qur'an has been misinterpreted (but you wouldn't know about that since it is not your religion, right?) and I know that hadiths in the holy book praise and worship our mothers and sisters and daughters.
Do not speak for a religion with your biased and hateful opinion that has been passed to you by people likewise and not
actual believers.
