Gaga has sold 153 million records WW. And that's official, not fan made!
Anyways, Gaga, Bey & Rihanna will do it.

If Youtube were counted for this figure it's still doesn't change the fact that Taylor sold over 170M. Just to remind you that :
- 170M records are what she has sold until February 2015. That's before she releases Style, Bad Blood and Wildest Dreams
- Shake It Off and Blank Space not even reach 1B views each around that time.
- Taylor never has huge music videos except You Belong With Me.
- Basically among other pop gurls, she has the lowest streams since she rejected the biggest streaming service a.k.a Spotify when others have billions streams on the same site
I don't see Taylor doing lower than 170M records worldwide especially when she's undercertified in most countries

Beyonce's just over 100m records in her career sales, not sure where people expect another 150m to come form
Britney's already 200m+, she will cross 250m at some point.
I think Taylor has a legit chance if she keeps going strong.

Bad Romance sold 9.7M in the IFPI 2010 tracking period, and sold 3.6M (only 37%) in the US in that same tracking period
Telephone sold 7.4M in the 2010 IFPI tracking period, and only 2.6M (35%) came from the US within that tracking period.
Born This Way sold 8.2M in the 2011 IFPI tracking period, and only 3.4M (41%) sales came from the US
And so on. Considering she sold 52M singles in the US and that her singles sell far more outside the US according to the IFPI, she has obviously sold 125M+ singles + her album sales
Simply the perks of being a global artist

Nothing to do with 'inflating' (the irony tho ), it's simply the perks of being a global artist

Her receipts thread says otherwise.
Quote:
Singles
Just Dance: 10.5M
Poker Face 14M
LoveGame: 3.5M
Paparazzi: 5M
Bad Romance 12M
Telephone: 9M
Alejandro: 5M
Born This Way: 9M
Judas: 2.5M
The Edge of Glory: 5M
Yoü And I: 2.5M
Marry The Night: 1M
Applause: 4M
Do What U Want: 2M
85M + an estimated 6M (album tracks: Starstruck, Dance in the Dark, Speechless)
91M
|
Obviously these #s already include what they sold after the IFPI stopped tracking their sales, otherwise they'd all be a lot lower. Adding a million or two to Poker Face (her only good catalog seller) or Bad Romance doesn't add up to an extra 34 million single sales. And I hope you do know that the IFPI includes ringtone sales (which were huge back then) so you can't prove how many copies come from outside the US.
I know she was global! Not everybody can achieve that I guess.

That's the problem with people who use IFPI all the time, they forget that ringtones played a huge part back then.
Paramore's flop 2007 single was the 10th best selling single of 2010 with 6 million copies sold.

Nope, actual receipts.
Pop girls like Lady Gaga are actually global and dominated parts of the world some artist can only dream of reaching it.
Perks of being global.

The point is that her US single sales (52M) are only ~40% of her total single sales sold as shown by literally all her IFPI year-end entries, with ringtone sales and global single sales making up the other ~60%.
So the 125M figure that was confirmed by Billboard, is also backed by actual IFPI receipts.
And an atrl receipt thread isn't the be all and end all For example, Just Dance sold almost 9M in just the US+UK+Canada+Australia. If you add the rest of the world + ringtones it's obviously way above 10.5M.
He's just being really conservative and erring on the side of caution, which is still better than using inflated estimates like certain other receipt threads

OT: Gaga will. The perks of being global

Right? The fact that he thinks Gaga only sold 25m singles outside of the US lmfao.
Perks of being global really benefited her, poor others.

She was reported with 80k? or some ridiculously low number on the mid-year Billboard 200 report for on-demand streams of 1989. So no WD didn't ger certified because of streams.
She is getting a few on-demand streams now because of Apple Music, but the other on-demand sites or totally irrelevant. WD certainly didn't get streamed 5 million times somewhere.

Taylor had over 500M streams on Spotify when she was taken off.
If you're going include stream-equivalent tracks and album shipments in Taylor's total, then Britney should be at 230M records sold
OT: Taylor has sold 150M records when you count her album, single and video sales.

I am screaming at this methodology
Not only did you exclude ringtone sales to make Gaga's singles look like they sold so much more outside of the U.S. but you have the gall to really think all of her singles sold at the same rate. "You and I" did like 2.4M in the U.S. and like 3M WW.
You need to stop with your multipliers and start using the actual numbers listed by organizations that track sales.

It was certified with less than 500k sales. Yes, streams contributed to its certification
It's like how "Everything Has Changed" has been certified Platinum despite selling less than 1M.
