I don't think that that was her original idea. I think she was perilously close to a wardrobe malfunction in the DrIL outfit because if you look closely someone brought her the shirt out on stage between songs which is something she wouldn't normally do.

u have to keep in mind shes not on tour, but on a festival, hence she makes sure to perform many of her hits to gain "new" fans. Its not like shes just performing for the Beyhive who knows all of her performances by heart. Probably 50% of the audience attending MIA and her concert have never seen her live up to this very point, so of course she gives them this.
