Besides, why is "young black people" suddenly the standard for what is remembered or not? Latinos are more of the percentage of the American population and none of you care what we think . Anyways, Cyndi is a great artist, it is impossible to hate her because she kinda has some of the biggest hits of the 80s and has always been a good live act. I'll always love her for that Goonies song she did.

All of the songs she knew are relatively new or released when she was growing up, she couldn't name any songs she released before the 2000s. It's not a big deal anyway, if anything it's a testament to her longevity but like I said this is going off of my experience. I just don't think Madonna has a lot of universally known classics like MJ and Whitney for instance.
