With such a weekly difference that head start Prism got from an extra year will be eroded very quickly, even more so when you add in another MV for Wildest Dreams and probably at least one more single too.

Which is why Katy's "head start" is irrelevant. Think Miley's "Wrecking Ball" and Meghan's "All About That Bass". Which was the bigger song? Really, they were almost equal. Which was the biggest music video? Wrecking Ball caused the most controversy, by far. But which has the most views? All About That Bass. Why? Because its music video was released in a time when streaming was at a greater peak. Wrecking Ball was not only bigger but had a bigger "head start", yet still has less views. This is because hits in 2014 were/are being streamed more than hits in 2013 were. Taylor benefits from this in ways that Katy doesn't. Therefore any "unfair" statements about Katy's Spotify streams being counted or Katy having a "head start" aren't needed as it balances out. Both artists have a leg up in some way over the other.

The comparison is a bit whacked though. Audio streams are not exactly the same as music video streams. Video takes up more data to stream, so if people are using their mobiles to stream, then it is much cheaper (in terms of buying data) to stream audio than video repeatedly.

The "cost" to stream is irrelevant to the data in the OP. This is comparing how many streams, not how much money was made per stream.
