Why do modern day if it's not going to take place in the year the show is airing, just like Murder House in 2011, Asylum in 2012, and Coven in 2013.
Id also like to note that at the end of Murder House, which by the time Vivian died it was late 2011, almost early 2012 they flash forwarded 3 years to what could easily be 2015 with Constance and her grandson Michael. I doubt that's a coincedence, especially with MH and Hotel both taking place in Los Angeles.

Do you think it's possible that most people in the Hotel, but not all of them, are dead just like in Murder House & they somewhat need to kill people to survive or something.
