Nothing is off limits, but there's a way to do it. That's all I'm getting at. It is completely fine (in my opinion) to bring up very dark, offensive and hush-hush topics in comedy (even subjects like death and suicide). Comedy makes people think about things they don't otherwise, and bringing up taboo or controversial topics in a humorous way often does a lot of good.
Wilhelmina's roast did not handle the topics well, and it came across disrespectfully.
