png's have become popular these past 2 years, do they warrant their own challenge? With gifs as a separate challenge too? Seems a little too much.

Combining smileys, gifs, png's, and whatever else comes with it like any other trends seems like the best idea. After all, gifs and pngs often become huge trend themselves, much more than lingo and any of the other stuff.

But I sort of disagree with what Cupid has said. Yes, maybe jpgs/pngs/gifs could be done in the same challenge but using a certain gif or a jpg is not a trend in my eyes. If a gif/jpg is being picked up on it's a smash or hit gif. But a trend?

The usage of gifs as such is a trend.

Gifs/png's are trends though, practically everyday we get a "next hit gif" thread.

And once a gif becomes popular, it spreads being used by everyone across the forum.

There's also certain types of gifs that trend, such as the Gretchen (?) trend.

And png's is pretty easy, I mean the transparent trend, the blinds trend - which was huge..
