Murphy said that the “Hotel” idea was inspired by a surveillance video from a Los Angeles-based hotel that surfaced two years ago. The footage showed a girl – Elisa Lam – in an elevator who ended up dead.
“It is called ‘Hotel’ and it’s set in a hotel,” Murphy said, disclosing that the hotel will be set in downtown L.A. “We deal with a lot of American horrors, [including] addiction.”
Lady Gaga will play the owner of the haunted hotel.
