I personally don’t have much knowledge of Kelly Clarkson’s music. I felt as though that it would be wrong to reorganize an era based on the opinion of someone’s whose truly never been introduced to said singer’s music. I’ve gone around on ATRL asking several Kelly Clarkson fans what they would have done with the album and what they feel like would’ve been right for the era. That being said, this would've been, in my opinion, the perfect era for Piece by Piece.

First single: Invincible
What went wrong with Heartbeat Song?
I can think of a few reasons why HBS was chosen as the first single. It is radio friendly, a bit generic & marks the return of Kelly to pop music. The latter reason is what went wrong with HBS and the entire Piece by Piece era in general. In my opinion, Kelly is not viable enough as a mainstream pop musician. Her voice is too one of a kind and could cater to so much more than just popular music. HBS is just another attempt to conquer pop charts and it failed. HBS just does not feel like a Kelly Clarkson song to me. It’s different but in the wrong way.
Why would you choose Invincible?
Invincible is, as opposed to HBS, different in the right way. If Kelly were to diverge from her usual pop-rock sound, this is the sound she should be going for.I kid you not when I say I got Sia mixed with Kelly Clarkson vibes from this song only to find out the song includes background vocals from Sia and was written by her respectively. The song sounds orchestral and has a fantastic infectious chorus that would surely stick out on the radio and perfectly compliments Kelly's massive voice.

Invincible impacts AC/HAC & Pop radio 1 week prior to its release date. Kelly Clarkson announces a small radio tour, doing interviews and promotion the lead single and upcoming album On Air with Ryan Seacrest & several Z100 New York radio stations.
Chart performance: The song debuts on the Billboard Hot 100 at 75 solely thanks to Kelly’s loyal fans. However, the song soars to 43 on the week of Invincible’s release. Kelly performs the song at Good Morning America and Ellen Degeneres. During both interviews, she mentions a new album will be coming soon. The video for Invicible is released October 11th.
▻ Chart performance:
The song continues to build nicely on AC/HAC radio but fails to shoot up on the iTunes charts. Thanks to Kelly’s various promo slots, the song ends with a #34 peak on the Billboard Hot 100.
Not the ideal situation for a lead single, but Kelly’s team is satisfied with the peak and quickly gather to commence the second single release.
Second single: Run Run Run ft. John Legend

▻ Promotion:
RCA Records decide to release Run Run Run as the second single. They push the song for all radio formats and wait for the song to build up audience. Kelly hasn’t done a promo slot since her performance on Ellen Degeneres. She does a Twitter/Facebook countdown announcing the vide of Run Run Run featuring John Legend.
10 days later the video is released on Youtube. It features Kelly and John Legend sitting on a bench in an open field. Throughout the video, Kelly and John’s facial expressions change as well as the atmosphere. The video shows the change of 4 seasons and different chapters of life. The video ends with the happy chapter. The concept behind this scenery is to portray the upcoming Piece by Piece era and the idea behind the album’s name. It describes Kelly’s journey to happiness and coming to terms with motherhood, matureness and contentment.
The end of the video also shows a black still that reads: Piece by Piece. Out February 27.
The video quickly garners publicity. Fans and music news outlets praise the video for its concept, its simplicity and the stunning graphics. Kelly confirms the release date and thanks her fans and the general public for receiving the video so well.
In the meantime John Legend’s All Of Me is still extremely popular on the charts. More people find out about John’s feature with Kelly and instantly love the song. The song builds momentum and takes advantage of it. Run Run Run starts blowing up on radio.
In January Kelly books three tv slots and holds various interviews. She performs a solo version of Run Run Run on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. Kelly Clarkson’s team shift their focus on the UK market. A UK release date for Run Run Run was already announced a week after its initial US release. Kelly goes on a small promotion tour and performs on the Graham Norton Show & Loose Women. Run Run Run is A-Listed by BBC Radio 1 and 2.
Fast-forward to February 2015. American Idol is in full rotation and in Episode 14 the Top 24 is revealed. American Idol perform a small tribute to Kelly who then individually performs Run Run Run and promotes her upcoming album Piece by Piece and promotes the release date.
A video released on Facebook by the LadBible garners attention. People are in awe of Kelly’s vocals during the American Idol performance and speak about how quickly time has passed since she’s won the first season. The song is also popular on Youtube and Vine. Aspirant professional singers with big subscribers all cover the song which garners even more attention.
Kelly profits from the social media attention and announces on Twitter that she will be performing the song with John Legend at the 87th Academy Awards on February 22.
After this performance, Run Run Run blows up on iTunes and reaches a massive 100 million audience on radio.

In between December 2014 and February 2015, Run Run Run ft. John Legend has jumped from 96-80-44-38-35-33-24-11. The week after the Oscar performance, which is critically acclaimed the song jumps to a number 3 peak.
Third single: Heartbeat Song

May 1st 2015.
Run Run Run is still charting in the top 20 of the Billboard Hot 100 and showcases great longevity but Kelly’s team decide to push for a third and final single.
▻ Promotion:
Heartbeat Song receives one promo slot. Kelly performs the song at the 2015 Billboard Music Awards. Kelly’s team have the idea to gain big audience on pop radio and the song acquires power rotation on all Z100 radio stations for 2 days.
▻ Chart performance:
Heartbeat Song does not make any big impact on the Billboard Hot 100. The song does go #37 on the Billboard Hot 100, marking Kelly’s 16th top 40 hit. The song gains big audience on pop radio and thanks to that the song manages to jump to a #31 peak.
A month later Kelly still has two songs charting on the Billboard Hot 100. Run Run Run is still top 20 while Heartbeat Song is floating around the mid fifties.
❥ Album-Sale Plan
Run Run Run is what saves the Piece by Piece era from disaster. The album goes #1 in its first week of release with sales of 155,000 copies TEA+SEA and 140,000 copies of traditional album sales. Run Run Run’s promo slot on the Academy Awards with John Legend garners a lot of attention on Youtube and Facebook and receives acclaim from several music critics and Kelly’s colleagues.
The album is promoted on Good Morning America, the Ellen Degeneres Show, the Tonight Show and Graham Norton as well as a plethora of radio interviews.
Piece by Piece displays great longevity on the Billboard Hot 100. The mature audience going out to buy the album, thanks to Run Run Run, and old loyal Kelly fans is what makes the album a success for Kelly’s standards. When it’s all said and done, Piece by Piece goes platinum in the US with a total of 2,1 million sales worldwide. That's a realistic number for an established artist like Kelly Clarkson.
❥ My Opinion
RATE: ★★★✫✫
Collectively the album is cohesively okay but but it lacks direction. The album does not have a typical Kelly Clarkson stamp you'd expect. I feel as though Kelly, or her label, tried too much to push her as a popstar. She is not applicable as popstar. She has one of hell of a voice and can sing live better than most female singers. She should exploit off her voice. That is her main selling product. That is exactly how she could cater to more mature audience. Kelly Clarkson can still be a successful musician. That is if she steps away from pop and focus on creating a sound and putting emphasize on what started this all: her voice.
Production on some songs is near-flawless. Standouts on the album are Take You High, Invincible, Run Run Run, Piece by Piece and In The Blue, Second Wind.

Singles
1st single: Kesha - 'Die Young'

Release date: 20th May 2012.
Kesha performs at the Billboard Music Awards, premiering her new lead single, 'Die Young', and announcing her new album, 'Warrior', pre-order.
The song debuts at #9, and continues rising the weeks after its debut. She performs at the Ellen show and GMA too.
Her team lets 'Die Young' rise on radio, and they release the music video two weeks after the premiere when the song is already top 10 on radio.
The week after the music video is released, the song hits #1.
[The song peaked at #2 originally, and was banned from radio because of a shooting in a high school]
Kesha is known for her singles, so she releases a second single before the album release.
2nd single: Kesha - 'Supernatural'

Release date: 31st July 2012.
EDM songs were smashing at this time of the year, so Kesha releases a "more experimental" EDM song. The album pre-orders help the song go top 10 on iTunes in a very short time, giving the song more exposure.
The song debuts at #16 on the Hot 100.
'Supernatural' has a hard time rising on radio, since the song isn't very radio-friendly, but the sales are consistent because it's the song every DJ plays at the club.
Four weeks after the song's release, Kesha releases the music video, which is a generic partying video. It gives the song a new push, peaking at #7.
The week after the video release, Kesha performs at the 2012 VMAs. The performance has a great effect. The song re-peaks at #3, being blocked by Whistle and We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.
3rd single: Kesha - 'Thinking Of You'

Release date: 6th November 2012.
After the album is released, TOY becomes a fan favorite, and every fan wants Kesha to make this song a single. Kesha releases a clean radio edit, since it has some explicit words. The song starts rising on radio, being a radio hit, but the sales aren't as great. Kesha suddenly disappears from social media, and she doesn't do any promo for this song. She releases a video almost two months after the song has peaked, and the video has 0 effect over the song. Radio is what saved this single.
It peaks at #29.
4th and last single: Kesha - 'Last Goodbye'

Release date: 5th February 2013
Another fan favorite. Kesha decides to release a final single for the fans, but it has 0 hype since TOY underperformed. The song is a moderate hit on radio. The label doesn't want to give Kesha a lot of budget for the video, so she releases a "home-made" video similar to the "Dirty Love" one.
The song peaks at #36, and doesn't have any longevity.
Album
Kesha - 'Warrior'
The album is released on 18th September, one week after Supernatural has peaked.
It debuts with 150-200k sales, similar to Animal's first week sales. She has promoted the album at the BBMAs and the VMAs. On the album release week, Kesha does promo on Good Morning America, Saturday Night Live (performing Die Young + Supernatural), the Ellen show and The Tonight Show.
The album spends 6 weeks on the top 10, having a weak longevity since TOY + LG underperform and Kesha disappears from social media.
It would end up selling ~600k on the USA and ~1.2M WW.

The overall consensus of this album's lack of success seemed to stem from the combination of lack of promotion & the album as a whole lacking flow. To help bridge this inconsistency I decided to format the album as a dual disc, intending to market Christina's contrasting facets of artistry. The first disc, Diary of Pain & Sorrows , contains slow and midtempo pop ballads, while the second, Diary of Liberty, focuses on more uptempo beats that blend electropop and dancepop genres.
Diary Of Pain and Sorrow
Just a Fool (With Blake Shelton):
Both artists pour their hearts out in this pleading ballad about losing the love of your life. Christina's vocals are at her all-time best as she soars across the high notes with ease. The world's reluctance to let Christina's voice be heard is truly saddening, this song could really be huge given the right promotion.
Blank Page:
Christina Aguilera lays it all out there in her new ballad "Blank Page," lamenting in an emotion-racked vocal delivery that she's "been no saint" but isn't quite sure of how to say sorry. Accompanied only by a piano, Aguilera digs deep in her performance but never crosses into showy terrain. One of the more effective moments in the ballad comes when Aguilera lowers her booming voice to a delicate almost-whisper, proposing to her victim: "Let our hearts stop and beat as one together; Let out hearts stop and beat as one forever."
Sing for Me
"Sing for Me" is a power ballad, its instrumentation consists of "soft" strings, a "delicate" piano melody and "80s power ballad-type drums" and reminiscent of the "old Christina". If "Army of Me" is Lotus* ' answer to her 2003 song "Fighter" then "Sing for Me" has "aims of being" a new version of her 2002 song "Beautiful
Best of Me
The things that people say cut through you and leave emotional damage inside, causing you to let it out with tears. These words can sometimes hurt people so much that they feel like everything inside of them is just breaking apart. Even though people continue to say things to hurt Christina and knock her down, she wants to ignore it and get back up until they finally realize that it doesn’t affect her and stop all the intimidation. Best of me is another phenomenal power ballad that helps reiterate the theme of this disc.
Cease Fire:
The underdog of the album, for one reason only: at a first listen, 'Cease Fire' isn't much; almost a monotone sequence of words with no real intention of turning into something memorable. However, the song is so equally intriguing that you kind of want to listen to it again, that's when you're in trouble. The song is an epic, featuring military drums, gun shots being used as percussion and the lyrics within the semantic field of war. War between two lovers who have been separated, as Christina pleads her other half to 'cease fire'. A beautifully powerful song that will never fail to capture a heart, it's almost a masterpiece.
Diary of Liberty and New Beginnings
Lotus Intro:
“I look at my reflection and embrace the woman I’ve become. The unbreakable lotus in me, I now set free,” Christina Aguilera pompously declares over a volley of electronic bleeps and beeps in the dramatic introduction to the Rebirth phase of the album. An album highlight & arguably one of the best tracks on the entire record.
Army of Me:
Described by the singer herself as "Fighter 2.0", this track pays homage to one of Christina's most successful songs back in her prime. Almost lyrically identical to 'Fighter', 'Army of Me' explores how a break up can make you feel wiser, stronger and even a fighter. Although it is musically very different, with 'Army of Me' drawing influences from electro-pop and 'Fighter' from classic rock, it is obvious that the writers of the former wanted something special to include on Christina's 'comeback' album, and what better to include than a reference to an old smash hit in the form of an entire song.
Light Up the Sky
It begins as a simple piano ballad before exploding into a multi-layered lung-buster. The song retains a pop sensibility that some of the other tracks lack, and will no doubt appeal to fans of ballad-mode Xtina. An absolute beauty of a song, and quite shockingly it isn't included on the standard edition. A track about rising up and becoming stronger. It's almost a personal message to fans, encouraging them to believe in themselves and stay true, The distorted drums throughout the song make it all the more epic, and her vocals during the final chorus are enough to put any other female singer in her place. The song boasts how Christina is a mother to her fans, with the bridge emphasis on how she is always a shoulder to cry on. Absolutely stunning.
Let There Be Love
One of Christina's catchiest and most uplifting tracks on the record. The classic pop tune is an unbearably cute pop song that sweeps Xtina away on a wave of synths to unfamiliar Eurodance territory. It turns out to be the perfect destination for the diva’s powerhouse pipes.
Your Body:
Everyone from Lady Gaga to Marina & The Diamonds has raved about “Your Body,” and it’s hard to disagree. The Max Martin/Shellback-produced anthem is an adrenalin-charged shot of dance-pop that proves once and for all that Christina can fit into the 2012 pop soundscape
Red Hot Kinda Love
An up-tempo song, that combines a variety of genres, including dance and disco,"subtle" tones of Latin,hip hop, and pop.The track truly showcases how versatile Christina can be whie remaining true to her own sound & staying within the bounds of this disc's theme.The track is smoky, sultry song that features an "old-school hip-hop loop" and vocal samples, as well as "dirty bass" which creates an "underground" feel.
Make the World Move
Demonstrating a sense of "sassiness" and "power" in her vocal performance,Legend X sings the positive attitude lyrics,"The time is now/ No time to wait/ Turn up the love/ Turn down the hate" over horn blasts" and "plinky synths with a brassy, big-band arrangement. This track is able to successfully close the album on a high note where it leaves you bopping for days.
Marketing Strategy
Your Body
The first single off the album, the fact that she NEVER performed her lead single anywhere, in spite of the fact that she had arguably the biggest platform at the time to promote it, her own show, The Voice, just screams lack of management. Your Body has outsold Not Myself Tonight when NMT had a million and one performances and heavy promotion and Your Body literally only had the music video.
Just A Fool
The track is also Aguilera's first country song & Blake Shelton,a prominent country star is featured on it so it'll be able to gain some support from country & pop fans alike. Just a Fool has outsold You Lost Me when it didn't have a video and not as many performances as YLM had. Then we have Just a Fool that sold almost 500K alone (more than some of the heavily promoted singles of the recent efforts of some of these 'It girls') on pure steam and a couple of performances (Ellen and The Voice) speaks immensely about the massive potential we had there.
Army Of Me
Her third and final single, this track bares an uncanny resemblance to an earlier hit of Christina's, Fighter. She is essentially paying homage to the journey she's been on & a lot of fans & non-fans alike will likely be inclined to purchase it for nostalgia's sake.

Combining all the audiences of these shows and entities. Taking into consideration the gifts and sales during the holiday season. Lotus would have sold an estimated "200,000 to 250 000" in it's first week. Your Body could have likely peaked in the top 5 if promoted correctly & ensured a radio deal, the song could have been an instant hit, the only problem i the lack of exposure. The same applies to JAF, ballads are one of Christina's fortes and what she's most known for, if she gave a riveting &emotional performance at the grammys similar to that of John Legend, she could have easily snatched a top 3.

Britney attends GMA on the 10th. Does an interview talking about the single and the direction/sound of the upcoming album. She hints at a tour. She then preforms Work Bitch as well some of her GH on the GMA Summer Concert Series. The same day she does an on the air KISSFM interview. More album talk and where’s she at in her life.
MV: Same concept as the original. There are scenes of Britney dancing in the desert, poolside, and a club. Britney is actually dancing her ass off. Throughout the video she’s flaunting everything she’s had to “work” hard for. Her body, her clothes, her cars,etc.
2nd Single: Tik Tik Boom f/ Nicki Minaj - released November 4th 2013

Britney goes on the Tonight Show. Interviews about her upcoming album, how it’s extremely personal to her. Unveils album name + cover. She also reveals that she will be touring the US starting in May 2014 and that after the tour is over in August, she’ll be starting her residency in Las Vegas. Performs Tik Tik Boom with Nicki live.
MV: The concept is sexy riot in the streets. In a brightly neon lit street at night, there are cars on fire, buildings with windows broken. Britney leads a pack of dancers through the streets. There’s not so much a storyline in this video but rather just a basic plot. The chreo is on point. Britney is actually doing dance moves the require effort. Cut to Nicki’s feat. She’s leading a pack of different dancers. Cuts back to Brit and the video ends after the final chorus.
3rd Single: Perfume - released February 11th, 2014

Britney is both the host and musical guest on SNL. During the 1st performance she preforms Perfume. During the 2nd performance she does Work Bitch.
MV: Same basic concept as the original. Britney suspects her man is cheating. Britney is a stay at home wife and we see shots of her waiting for her man at home, them out to dinner and the husband being preoccupied on his phone. Cut to the middle of the night, the husband’s phone vibrates, it’s a message from from Stefani it reads “I miss you, xoxo”. From then on we see Britney going THRU it. Crying, looking at old photos etc. She starts spraying his clothes with her perfume, and making sure her scents rubs off onto him. The husband leaves to meet his side chick. Just as they’re about collapse to the bed, she smells Brit’s perfume and kicks his ass OUT! He drives back home only to find his all his stuff outside, locks changed and lights out. Video closes with Brit smiling in her bed.

Promo: Britney attends 2 late night talk shows the week of her album release, Live w/Jimmy Kimmel & Conan. She performs Work Bitch, Tik Tik Boom. She attends 2 day shows, Live with Michael and Kelly and The View. No performances here, just strictly promo for the album. When the full week of release promo is over the album is at 170k.
By the time the 3rd single is released, 3 months later, Britney Jean has sold 300k. She then goes on Tour from May until August. At that point the album is almost gold.

Single Release Plan:
The single release plan for the original Me. I Am Mariah... The Elusive Chanteuse started off on a promising note, #Beautiful was a hit commercially and critically. The song peaked at number 15 on the Hot 100 and eventually went platinum. #Beautiful didn't exactly set the world on fire, but it showed that Mariah Carey was still a commercial force and was interested in experimenting with her sound; the nostalgic and laid back feel of #Beautiful resonated with people that wouldn't exactly check a Mariah Carey song to begin with (in fact, it's the song that made me a fan and made me start checking for her) and it created hype for Mariah's upcoming album among her hardcore fans and pop fans in general. The song was the perfect lead single for the project and it would be counterproductive to the release of I Am Mariah to release any other single as the album's lead. It's only after the extended lull between singles where the album lost momentum.
Sure, #Beautiful was the rare Mariah Carey lead single to miss the top 10 of the Hot 100, but it did build valuable buzz and excitement for the album with a mature sound, a very rare feat on the Hot 100 this decade. Instead of waiting more than a year after #Beautiful, the next single, You Don't Know What To Do (feat. Wale) would be released a couple months after #Beautiful in the summer of 2013. You Don't Know What To Do would fit right in with the throwback disco sound that was common on the charts back then and would fit right in among Bruno Mars's Treasure and Daft Punk's Get Lucky. You Don't Know What To Do would receive promotion on a couple of the morning shows like Good Morning America and the Today Show during the late summer/early fall. The song is catchy and danceable, it feels like a late summer and early fall hit. It might not hit the top of the charts, but would be another moderate Platinum Top 20 hit, with some longevity as Mariah would perform the song at various events through the festive holiday season, a solid achievement for the aging chanteuse.
The third single, Faded, would be released the winter of 2013. Like You Done Know What To Do and #Beautiful, the song is modern, yet still has something of a timeless, labored over quality to it. The Mike WiLL Made-It production would help the song gain traction on the pre-DJ Mustard charts. The song could potentially hit Top 40 on urban radio and potentially on the Hot 100, especially with some promotion during the Winter Season of the Voice (after Mariah decided to leave American Idol of course). Overall, the song would most likely go gold based on the momentum of the other songs and help to reintroduce her ballads to a younger generation.
Sometime after Faded, the fourth and final single, One More Try would be released. The gospel accented song wouldn't receive much official promo besides an edited version sent to Adult Contemporary radio. The song would be a final thank you to Mariah's core fan base that supported her through the era, would receive a classy and mature music video that looks back at Mariah's career and be a chance to maintain connected to the mature demographic that had supported her since her debut album and remind people of her vocal talent. The song wouldn't do much on the charts, but it would be played in Starbucks, NPR affiliates, and book stores around the country and shift a couple additional copies of the album to people that wouldn't ordinarily check the album based off the other three singles.
Album Sales Plan:
I Am Mariah would ride off of #Beautiful's buzz and single success. The album itself would be released shortly after the release of second single You Don't Know What To Do. #Beautiful performed modestly on the charts, but it would be enough to help the album open up somewhere in the 250,000 range. The single release plan would help the album perform modestly throughout the year as Mariah would stay in the news. Mariah's image would be marketed much differently with the I Am Mariah release. She has been seen as kind of a self-parody in recent years, as both elitist and immature; which is a shame, because the music on the original Me. I Am Mariah is some of her most self-assured and mature work to date. The new album promo campaign would correct that.
Mariah Carey is a talent to be respected. Most people agree with that, or are at least on board with her vocal talent. I Am Mariah, strips down some of the bloat of the overly long Me. I Am Mariah... The Elusive Chanteuse (even that title is way too long and silly), starting with that self-parody of a title. Me. I Am Mariah, becomes a statement album to identify where the current Mariah is in her life and music. Part of the problem with the original album is that while it contains some very mature music (and some of Mariah's best work that could still be commercially successful), it also contains some attempts at modernness that just don't work; Me. I Am Mariah forgoes the bangers like Thirsty that vainly attempt to recapture a contemporary urban audience while alienating the mature fans that would otherwise be interested in a Mariah Carey album. The album still has some songs with Urban appeal, like Dedicated and Faded, but those songs are tastefully done, feel labored over, substantive, and nostalgic in nature and most music fans would be able to get on board with them. The later half of the album is the gospel inflected portion and would be the part that re-establishes Mariah as a serious talent and artist.
Through the promo afforded by the singles, the rehab of Mariah's image, the mature respectable forward-thinking image created by the music, and the buzz from American Idol promo, the album would at least make it to the 800,000 range. Mariah of course isn't going to sell on par with her debut, but she might just outdo Memoirs and be able to approach Platinum.

Single-Release Plan:
Lead Single – Prima Donna
With the lead single, I decided to go with Prima Donna. I feel as if it’s the only song on Bionic that’s actually lead single material. And I also feel like in order for the album to have a decent shot at being moderately successful, she would have to release singles that don’t stray too far from her image at the time but are still experimental at the same time and I feel as if Prima Donna still sounds very “Xtina” while also being a bit of a departure for her.
Its first performance would be on American Idol on April 7th, one day after its release on April 6th. She later performs a medley of Genie 2.0, Desnúdate, and Prima Donna on Live with Regis and Kelly on April 9th. She released the music video in the following week on April 13th; the video was not an unoriginal, try-hard mess like Not Myself Tonight so it was better received and she faced no backlash as a result hihi. On May 7th, she performed the song on The Oprah Winfrey Show. Finally, she would perform the song for the last time on The Today Show on May 10th.
The song would sell of 101,000 copies first week, and would debut on the Billboard Hot 100 at #17. The song would finally peak at #7 on the Hot 100 and remained on the charts for 10 weeks. The song also peaked at #10 on the Canadian Hot 100. Despite zero international promotion, the song still managed to peak at #9 on the UK Singles Chart. The song slayed lives in Asia, peaking at #1 on the Japan Hot 100 and #5 on the Gaon Music Chart. The song didn’t do that well in Australia and New Zealand, peaking at #23 in Australia while not charting in New Zealand at all, poor that.
Promo Single – Desnúdate
The main purpose of releasing Desnúdate is as a pre-order incentive for the album, so Desnúdate wouldn’t get much promotion. But it would be performed multiple times in various performances of Bionic and Prima Donna.
Second Single – Bionic
I chose Bionic as the second single because of how it peaked #66 on the Billboard Hot 100 despite it not being a single. That tells me that it had the potential to be a huge hit in America if given the right promotion.
She would debut the single with a performance on the finale of American Idol on May 26th. She would perform it next along with Desnúdate at the MTV Movie Awards on June 6th. On June 8th she performed the song, alongside several other songs from the album, as part of a concert on The Today Show. And later on June 10th, she performed the song on The Late Show with David Letterman. A day later, Christina would continue to perform the song as a part of another concert on The Early Show. After that she would start doing a little bit of international promo, performing on shows around the United Kingdom and Australia throughout the rest of June. In August, she would return to North America and embark on a short tour around the United States and Canada called the Bionic Tour.
The single would be a huge hit in North America, peaking at #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #4 on the Canadian Hot 100. The song did great in Asia, with a peak of #10 in Japan and #3 in South Korea. The song would also do decently in the UK, Australia, and New Zealand, peaking at #7 on the UK singles chart and #14 and #12 in Australia and New Zealand respectively.
Third Single – You Lost Me
I decided to make You Lost Me the final single because I think that after the two/three upbeat singles, people would want to hear a more mature, vulnerable Christina.
She premieres the song at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards on September 10th. In the months of September and October, she performs the song on several shows in the around the world.
The song, unfortunately, wasn’t a big hit in the US. It debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 at #78 and peaked at #17. It did slightly better in Canada, peaking at #15. It okay everywhere else, peaking at #16 in both the UK and Australia, #24 in New Zealand, #22 in Japan, and #12 in South Korea.
Album-Release Plan:
The album would be released on July 16th, almost a month after her performance of Bionic and Desnúdate at the MTV Movie Awards. In addition to all of the performances of her singles and various other songs performed in medleys on talk shows, she did a lot of interviews about the album describing it as “just a fun electronic album” she came up with after being inspired by the birth of her son. Also, on May 10th, she announced a short tour to promote the album called The Bionic Tour that would run from August 4th to September 8th. The tour did decently, selling 82% of its tickets overall.
Now onto charts,
US: The album would debut at #2 with 259,000 copies sold first week. After a few months it’d be certified gold.
Worldwide: The album would have 600,000 copies sold first week WW. Eventually the album would sell 2x Platinum overall. Slay.

Lavigne travels to the "On Air with Ryan Seacrest" studio for a world premiere event of her new single. She confirms that her album is currently in the finishing stages, and reveals that it will be self-titled. The release of the album will be in September 2013.
