Still, there are film franchises out there that are kicking it old school and coming out ahead of the game. This week's new release of "Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation" is a good example of episodic storytelling in modern film franchises, as well as evidence that this kind of satisfyingly singular entertainment can succeed financially.
Load's albums (always released in Oct) usually peter out during Q1 of the following her. But they rebound and sell well during Q4 (of the following year). 1989 managed to sell well beyond Q1. With more singles, promo and awards, her sales could really explode this holiday season.
