1. Nicki tweets about how her video (whose views plummeted since it came out) deserves the nomination.
2. She complains that "other" girls with slim bodies who break records (conceivably Taylor and/or Miley--whose views were stable) get nominated.
3. She favorites/retweets tweets from fans who mention Taylor BY NAME.
4. Taylor responds.
So what I originally said still stands true. It's not a hard concept to understand. Please be sure you read all of this before responding unintelligently for a third time.

Once again you have 3. confused with 4.

And you're going to twist it in whichever way makes your fave look like a saint who's capable of no wrong.
That's how stanning works, sadly.

Nicki still didn't win, despite this apology. She might would have won if she didn't behave like a child after and RT and carry on long after Taylor stopped responding.
This way, the media just would have went in on Taylor and Nicki could have skipped the gloating during this phase and only responded gracefully to Taylor's apology.
It's kind of like both of them lost, just in different ways.

You clearly don't like her based on posts I've seen by you about her on here, so I'm going to tell you the same thing...quit making up what you would like to believe.
I don't want her to be the "victim" because she isn't in the situation. Whatever Nicki's intentions were, this tweet doesn't fit any other nominee than Taylor:
NICKI MINAJ @NICKIMINAJ Jul 21
If your video celebrates women with very slim bodies, you will be nominated for vid of the year 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
It DOES look like a call out. Then, she proceeded to favorite tweets that WERE shading Taylor (before Taylor tweeted anything).

But she's so nice anyway.

The fact that this post literally is the reason WHY she apologized makes me laugh. This is exactly why she did it.
So people could say things like this and be like, "Taylor is so sweet and mature. Look at how she handled that."
As Vin said, her image is the only thing she is protecting. There is no real act of contrition here.

I bet Taylor Swift always wins at that Risk board game.
Now, I do agree with you, Mani, when it comes to Nicki Minaj. Because, conversely, Nicki Minaj's backtracking makes her look stupid. Nicki Minaj criticizes the VMAs. She blasts MTV by bringing out the race card, essentially calling them racist for not nominating "Anaconda." But, then, turns around and backtracks by saying: "It's all love to MTV. Kisses to my fans and thank you for my 3 nominations." Then what was all the fighting for? Attention? Did she even care about these racial issues she was spouting during her MTV rants? Was it just to be an opportunist? If not, then what was the point? Minaj's beef and backtracking is very transparent and makes her look very stupid, as you've mentioned. In any case, Taylor Swift won.

Taylor is a such fake bitch who wasn't used the backlash she got when she inserted herself into a very valid conversation that Nicki was having. TaylorNation have now came in and put a PR plan into action to make Taylor seems like a "mature" one in this. When in fact her bitchiness came out to light criticising another woman for expressing her views which are very apparent in the music industry as a whole.

Katy wasn't rude. She just exposed publicly that she was still bothered.
I think once katy got involved Taylor thought it was a good idea do this so that Taylor looks like the mature one and two others didn't

Nicki should probably apologize too just because. What she said seemed like a general or hypothetical statement & Bad Blood matched the description so I can't even blame Taylor for feeling like she was called out. Nicki is messy a lot of times and then she twists it around to make herself look like the victim after everybody starts dragging her.
|
Well,
she used other girls which is plural which was indirectly aimed at Miley and Taylor there's no denying that but I doubt Nicki is going to apologize. She'll just accept the apology as if she did nothing wrong...

I agree. I think Taylor Swift learned a very valuable lesson from all of this. One, not to trust rappers. And secondly, when someone plays the race card, just don't reply or say anything, because you already won the argument if that's the card being played when it had nothing to do with the original conversation. And I love how Taylor Swift is insanely smart. She was right on both counts. She was right to defend herself and call Nicki Minaj out on her ridiculous behavior (which, again, scared Minaj, so she resorted to talking about race). And Swift was also right to "concede," since Minaj turned the conversation to race, this was a no-win situation for Swift. I don't even really believe Taylor Swift's apology is real, I just think she's smart enough to know that this fight with an unprofessional rapper isn't really worth anything and it's better to be the bigger (and smarter) person and let it go instead of drag it out. Very smart PR. Very smart woman. And that's why she's the biggest celebrity in the world right now. And that's also why all of her competition are extremely jealous and clawing at her.
TL;DR: Taylor Swift won.

I think once the media gets a hold of this Taylor will look like the bigger person and many will eyeroll and sideeye Nicki and even worse with Katy (who accidentally might end up being the one that really lost). Before taylor's apology, taylor was going to look bad to some. Now they don't have a reason and she looks like the bigger person.

This just makes Taylor look weak imo. I've lost respect for both of them all around.
|
No it doesn't.
She just placed the weight on Nicki and katy. Now if Nicki apologizes for the retweets and favorites than she places the weight on Katy who will have no one else to place it on.
It's like a game of hot potato.

I'm sure Taylor is aware of this but it's like hot potato.
Now the heat is off Taylor and people that know Nicki shaded Taylor will look at Nicki differently and Katy inserting herself into it means the hot potato has landed on them.
taylor looks better and more mature despite being way younger than both.
Her PR knows...

Yeah I agree, if the "white media" who were too scared to be called racist never went against Taylor, she never would have apologized. I kind of wish she would have just stuck to her guns since she was essentially in the right, would have made her look much more interesting. But I can see why the PR team were quick to nip this in the bud, hence the apology.

Don't even bother. Judging from that one person who keeps posting the Kelly Rowland gif, it looks like there's some kind of purposeful misunderstanding now where Nicki stans refuse to admit that Nicki was favoriting tweets about Taylor BEFORE Taylor responded. Oh well. We know who won and who will keep winning

I don't think you realize how easily everyone saw and is seeing through that apology. That should have came as soon as it happened. Instead, she allowed people to sit and simmer on the thought of her being a passive aggressive "white feminist" who tried to use her newly learned feminism in a divisive way, rather than seeing what Nicki was trying to say, dealing with the struggles of BW in the media; The lack of appreciation.. It then became all about her, and completely showed why black and white feminism lacks intersectionality. The GP is not as stupid as you think. That good girl image is getting a little tainted, I'm afraid.
