I don't get why this concept is SO COMPLICATED for people.
Taylor's issue was DIRECTLY with
Katy. that is what Bad Blood is about. She never mentioned Katy by name. In fact, Katy exposed HERSELF with her immature behavior towards Taylor. The song was, literally, "Bitch, you ****ed me over and I'm going to call you for that." It's not pitting women on women, it's calling someone out for stabbing you in the back. She does the same thing to men (Jake G, John Mayer) I also don't see anyone throwing a fit that she called out Camilla Belle for her BS either.
On the other hand, Nicki's (utterly ridiculous) beef is with the
VMAs. Taylor does NOT choose the nominations, and there were THREE OTHER PEOPLE (excluding the Black Beyonce, and it makes no sense to rant about a black woman being nominated when her whole issue is racism against blacks, so she probably had no issues there) that could have "stolen" Nicki's spot. Nicki, instead, decided to specifically body-shame Taylor Swift for being thin and getting a VOTY nom. Nevermind the fact she has nothing to do with Nicki's lack of nom and nevermind the fact the men co uld have just as easily taken her spot. She took an issue with an AWARDS SHOW and turned it into girl vs. girl for attention. Then she's trying to act innocent like she didn't make the tweet, going so far as to delete it.
Taylor is completely in the right here
