One of the things that I love most about the tour is that it manages to be an iconic, memorable EVENT without Her pulling out the typical pop show crap. She doesn't wear wigs and nearly all of Her tour wardrobe are more like outfits you'd see Her wearing on the street. She doesn't play any characters, wear any costumes—She's Herself straight through.
And I feel like there's none of the over-the-top spectacle people have come to expect of pop stars. She's not simulating masturbation or doing whatever the hell Miley was doing for Bangerz or theming the performances after Her music videos or being gaga. The props are minimal and essential.
It's all Her, straight through. And it's amazing because of it.

Funny you say this bc I just watched the Katy Perry Prism tour a few days ago and noticed the ridiculous amount of costumes and props. My mom watched it too and was annoyed with the fact that you barely saw Katy as a person. Not trying to bash Katy but it is interesting how different Taylor is.
