It honestly did not. Each music video back then was a big event. People were pressed to their TV screens awaiting their premieres. They actually discussed it immediately when they came out. We actually used Mtv like it was Atrl and sent in letters and called out celebs and stuff. Everybody knew Tatus Music Video and thanks for exposing that you are nothing but a 13 year old arguing a point that can never be substantiated with facts.

Trust me, music videos were huge in the 90s, everyone was still watching TV, and during commercials, lulls, etc. everyone always switched to MTV or another music channel. I'd say music video popularity only very recently got back to that level.

And it wasn't played at all in UAE because it was offensive and they were afraid of the backlash.
