This was the main problem, Storm stole the show in the future scenes for DOFP so Halle has it in her, as long as the writing and action is there.





dfghgfds the Storm in TAS is a mess, all those long speeches as she is dealing out massive amounts of damage

I hope singer isn't truely done with the X men, i'm assuming some one else will pick up from Apocalypse as long as it does decently at the box office, but I feel like hes only just got going with the series.

He is for sure done with it. But obvs someone else will pick it up or else marvel gets the rights back

I don't doubt Fox will push onward with the new characters introduced in Apocalypse (unless it bombs and they reboot entirely which is unlikely), but Singer sort of hinted he may be apart of future movies:

That Storm sheet is interesting I don't remember her taking out 2 humans in the film? So maybe she goes along with Magneto and Bobby and guards the X Jet?

Just watched.

First of all, let me say I completely get why Rogue's scenes were cut. Apart from them wanting a shorter movie that would likely make more money due to more cinema showings, did anyone else sort of feel like Rogue was a bitch in how the moment Kitty realizes Bobby is dead she just takes her powers and pushes her aside?! At least Kitty got to save Mangneto instead of Blink though towards the end when she pulls him back through the door when the sentinels are attacking.

The mansion rescue scene was the best addition, though. It's a shame that didn't make it in. The destroyed underground section, the experimentation on Rogue and the X-Jet escape where Prof X uses ha pilot skills to save them all! The sentinel hand being the thing that got them caught was a cool idea too. I love how they morphed that scene from the mansion in the 70s to the prison-type mansion in the future too, it was a cool juxtaposition. I liked how the paralleled Rogue's release by Magento with past-Magneto's breaking into the CIA but it sort of fell a bit flat; I think it would have had more if they knew they weren't going to cut it.

I liked the extended scene before they send Wolverine back, too. It makes sense that Bishop's group would be apprehensive about these four new people coming and basically saying let's die to see if this works. Plus Storm got a couple of extra lines, slay!

The biggest mess was probably the scene where Raven/Mystique comes to the mansion after Charles uses Cerebro to find her at the airport. How could not sense she was in his damn house?! He has his powers at that point and he's resting so surely he could tell there's one extra brain floating around his house. It mirrors the plot hole created in X1 when Mystique is just walking around the mansion and is able to destroy Cerebro like she does here. I guess in a way that connects this to X1, but still it makes Charles seem less powerful than he should be. The love scene with Beast definitely worked though - I wonder if they'll develop that a bit in Apocalypse. Second choice for biggest mess goes to that mid-credits scene with Trask. Like why on Earth is he in the Pentagon prison?!

It was fun then to see little extended versions of scenes like Wolverine waking up in the 1970s and taking the gangster's car, and Hank at the mansion realizing Mystique will go to DC. Overall it was a cool extended version, but I really wouldn't call this an alternate movie like Singer said. Can't wait for the special features when I get my copy next week.
