Only if you have a shallow definition of what an artist is. I mean literally everyone does the guitar, pen, and paper stuff. What's so special about it? Now if someone comes in to condense THAT process but offers something ELSE in return, say a great piece of work in the end, then why shouldn't that also be considered art?
The example people always give is the architect vs the carpenter. They're both valuable to the process, but provide different things.

What is special about this is that these people are involved in the music as a whole and create it from scratch. But did I say that only people who do this are great artists? No I didn't.
To me a great artists doesn't start off an album by hiring 20 writers into a mansion to present their songs.
