Digital is the only way to look for relevance in South Korea for international artists. Taylor's only hit in South Korea is We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together. That came out years ago
It was also not that big of a hit in general, but in terms of intentional artist hits it was of decent size. Problem is actually a hit of all standards in South Korea. It actually went Top 10 and stayed Top 20 for months.
Bang Bang Bang was also a hit due to Ariana.
If not Ariana, then the most relevant artist in South Korea is 100% Beyonce. In reality Maroon 5 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> >> any other act, but this thread is about pop girls and Beyonce is the most relevant without a doubt. Her songs are constantly covered at year end award shows and on highly rated audition shows, not to mention Halo is one of the best selling international songs in South Korea.
However, as with Taylor it came out years ago. Which is why at the moment I consider Ariana the bigger star although Beyonce's name is definitely more known in general.

Did you check Hanteo chart too? There's no way 1989 sold less than 1K

let's not. It AT LEAST sold 5K.
I'd also say Beyonce is the most relevant but 4 and BEYONCE are made zero impact on here so..she's quickly forgotten. And whoever said Mariah is the most popular...no. just no.
And Ariana

are you serious. I agree Problem was quite popular but her fanbase is basically nonexistent

no one will show up her show. (well if she ever come here

)
Out of recent pop girls (Rihanna, Katy, Taylor, Miley, Gaga and Ariana etc) Taylor has the biggest fanbase for sure.
