the male equivalent in my opinion would be something thats too hood (hardcore rap) or too rock (death metal or something).

Does hardcore rap even exist still? Like I haven't heard of a straight hardcore rap hit single in years, and all these rappers are doing now is DJ Mustard produced songs and Drake featured songs.

Hardcore Rap is mostly content. Like Eminem in early 2000's talking about raping and killing women or just extreme violence. There's like 0 rappers who reach that level in their music nowadays. Eminem included.

That's not really the same thing, though, is it? Hardcore rap, death metal, rock, etc. aren't gendered and aren't really looked down on anyway. Women can and do make music in all those genres.

I realize girly things just aren't for everyone and that's totally fine, it's just that I don't think it stands as a valid criticism on its own.
