The OG 3DS. I bought it when it was 250 and had no games out.
Same! Got it just after Ocarina's release but it was all I had til Christmas 2011 with that Mario 1-2 punch. But I'm not gonna lie it was worth it for the ambassador programme because I've spent countless hours on the original Zelda, GBA Warioware and Fire Emblem thanks to 20 free games they're now charging for £5 each on the Wii U eShop
Wii U had tons of fun games in the last year, and I like it a lot, but this is what I expect from the first year of a console, not it being the last. Smash Bros, MK8, Splatoon, MPX, and many more were so fun, now it's like a yoshi yarn game i might buy if it's 40$.
And I havn't bought a 3DS game since Majora's Mask which was like 6 months ago, did they forget about the 3DS too?
The Only game I will buy from nintendo for the next 6 months will be Mario Maker. I was gonna buy Xenoblade, but Horizon looks much better. I'm working for money this summer and going to buy a PS4, cause Nintendo is failing me right now. Star Fox Zero I might buy, or ask for it for Xmas

- Release Winter 2016, although that does seem really early.

That's not possible unless they actually remake the games, or develop a really good emulator (like Dolphin). They could upscale the games not in 1080p already to that though, but I assume that already happens if you have the Wii U outputting at that. Maybe upscaling to 4K if NX supports that.
If Mario Kart and Super Smash weren't enough to revitalize the Wii U's sales then I doubt Zelda will do much.
It's time for the next console, but in doing so they're going to be losing a lot of early Wii U adopters who will be hesitant to fork another 250+ dollars into a new console. Nintendo better be ready to try and get the hardcore gamers back and stop with the gimmicks.
To be honest, I'm not even sure NX will be backwards compatible. They're gonna have to switch to the x86 architecture to compete with Microsoft, Sony, and PC. They're currently using PowerPC.
I mean I guess they may be able to do what they've been doing and just include the previous console in the system, but...
NX needs to come out in 2017 at earliest, and preferably 2018 tbh. PS5/XB4 aren't gonna come out until around 2018-2020. Just let the Wii U flop and make your money off of 3DS and amiibo. They should release a couple more big games for the Wii U though, like Zelda, to hold people over.
They need to make a system that's gonna be able to actually compete and give people a reason to buy it. I really think if Nintendo made a powerful console that could play their exclusives + all of the big third party games (and actually look good), they would easily win. Leave everything Wii/Wii U related in the past and come up with something innovative while still being easily accessible.
Omg, same here with the 3DS. Got it, played Ocarina of Time, then let it gather more dust than my fave's career I've been fine with the Wii U tbh, but that's mostly because I'm in grad school now and only have time for one game at a time really. Every Wii U game I own is part of the Mario franchise though That'll continue when I get Yoshi's Woolly World and Super Mario Maker, but Xenoblade Chronicles X will finally break the cycle.

And it's so easy to go down in rank quickly I.T. Because the teams are nearly always so unevenly matched the amount of entirely inept players baffles me.....
