OK I did number crunching for "Uptown Funk's" airplay impressions UF looks like it still has a few more days left in the Top 10, so I'll say how many days the song has been in that part of KWORB'S AI, not MEDIABASE'S AI, to eliminate any confusion as to which figures I've used to come up with UF's impression #s.
First, let's look at the # of days UF spent in certain parts of the Top 10
#1 -- 84 days/12 weeks, 24 Jan-21 Apr
Top 2 -- 91 days/13 weeks; 21 Jan-22 Apr
Top 3 -- 95 days/13 weeks, 4 days; 17 Jan-22 Apr
Top 5 -- 122 days/17 weeks, 3 days; 16 Jan-17 May,
Top 10 -- 178 days and counting/25 weeks, 3 days, and counting; 27 Dec-...
Right now the closest song on radio that's really ascending is "Cheerleader," which is #13 with 80.151 million impressions after a gain Sunday of 2.388 million over Saturday. UF is #9 with 99.264 million impressions after losing 762,000 impressions compared to Saturday, or a lead of 19.113 million impressions over Cheerleader. Cheerleader could jump UF and reach the Top 10, climbing to #9, and UF would still stay in the Top 10 at #10. So UF should reach the 26 week/6 month mark in the Top 10 this Friday/Saturday without a problem, though other songs could come into play that could prevent UF from getting a 27th week in the Top 10.
Now let's look at time UF spent above certain impression tiers, since UF did fall below 100 million until Sunday, after an extremely lengthy tenure above that benchmark:
Peak: 248.908 million impressions: 04 Mar
225 million +: 56 days/8 weeks, 05 Feb-01 Apr
200 million +: 78 days/10 weeks, 1 day; 29 Jan-16 Apr
175 million +: 97 days/13 weeks, 6 days; 22 Jan-28 Apr
150 million +: 113 days/16 weeks, 1 day; 17 Jan-09 May
100 million +: 165 days/23 weeks, 4 days; 08 Jan-21 Jun
So even though "Uptown Funk" "only" finished 5th among the all-time audience leaders, its longevity is far greater than songs that peaked with higher audiences.
