Insidious 3 was such a downward spiral into pure cheesiness. The movie tried so hard to make us feel bad for every single character with a cheap backstory. I am surprised
the dog didn't die
just to make the audience go 'awww.' To make it worse the movie, much like Chapter 2, relied only on jump scares despite there being only one effective scare (
the ending
).
Chapter 3 was not awful horror movie and I was entertained, but it was hardly memorable compared to the chilling first installment.
Just watched this because of you and thank you so much. I know it sounds weird but this is one of the best movies I have ever watched out of so many reasons. This is the type of movie I wish I could forget just to experience it again.

Contemplating whether I should watch It Follows or The Babadook
Don't listen to the others, watch both. I had a marathon last week with my friend where we watched both and she loved them that's why they're both highly highly critically acclaimed
I was YELLING the entire time, it's a whole different type of terrifying and scary. I felt so ****ing uneasy and creeped out. The twists are all so well done and I was surprised how mellow it felt because the ideas are so huge and complex. I think the improvised dialogue helped a lot and made the movie even better.
I just watched Them (Ils). French-Romanian horror, supposedly based on real events.
It's from 2006 and on IMDB it has 6,5 score which is pretty okay.
Plot was fine, characters pretty satisfying and atmosphere was good! If you don't have anything to watch, I recommend it!
It's very similar to The Strangers, but I would dare to say even more intense. Beginning and the ending!
